“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
Matthew 6…the chapter that discusses prayer, where to find true riches, and my favourite part…why not to worry.
I find it quite divinely inspired that the Author of this book wrote about prayer, riches, worry, and decisions all in the same chapter! I mean, isn’t it true? If we value prayer and time in the Word and have a strong relationship with our Maker, then we’ll find that we are storing our riches in heaven rather than here on earth and will also discover that we don’t need to worry about the little or bigger things in life like whether we’ll have something to eat tomorrow or not, how we will live, which decision is correct or which should be avoided, what’s in front of us in the days ahead, or anything else! That’s why the chapter’s second-to-last verse so fittingly states: “But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and allll other things will be added to you.”
When we put God first in our life, school, occupation, choices, when we choose every single day – 24 hours/ 7 days a week – to stay close to the Lord no matter what, our strength, courage, direction, happiness, our daily bread, and “all other things” will be added to us according to His Will. Whatever we need to keep walking in the path He has for us will be provided! Isn’t that beyond amazing?
I’m choosing to trust Him…how about you? All it takes is to “taste and see,” and you’ll find it to be true.
Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
